Canseco's 2nd Book Adds Fuel To Steroid ScandalBOSTON (CBS) ― Jose Canseco was in Boston Thursday promoting his second book on the steroid scandal in baseball. Canseco claims his first book was largely responsible for breaking open the scandal. With his second book, the admitted steroid user is making waves in the controversy again. He signed copies of the book titled "Vindicated," which goes even further, looking at the state of the baseball post-scandal and the Mitchell Report. In the book, Canseco takes shots at baseball players left and right. He alleges that he introduced his former best friend Alex Rodriguez to a steroid dealer. "If you look at his weight gain from the time I introduced him to the steroids until after (spring training) he gained about 20 to 30 pounds," he said. In an interview with CBS station WBZ-TV's Steve Burton on Thursday, Canseco talked about his relationship with A-Rod after his former best friend allegedly hit on Canseco's now ex-wife, Jessica. "I think you realize I despise him. I took him under my wing as a young kid and tried to help him out and brought him to my home," Canseco said. "He looks at my wife and then looks at me and says, "That's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.' I said, 'Well, thank you,' and then I learn he's been calling her." Canseco said he confronted Rodriguez about the alledged affair. "He said, 'I'm a man's man. I would never do that. I'm too honorable for that." Canseco said when he then confronted his wife about it, "She did not deny it. She did have an affair with Alex while they were married." The self-proclaimed whistleblower of the Major League Baseball steroid scandal has been eating up media attention in recent days and has continued to add fuel to the controversy.
